Our Boy Josh

Josh is our socially awkward boy. We shutter to think of what happened that caused him to be so anxious and fearful. BUT He is gradually learning that he can trust us, and is beginning to join the pack in greeting us at the door, spending time in the living room, allowing us to cuddle with and brush him, and cuddling with his brothers. Despite his anxiety, he is the sweetest and most well behaved member of our pack. 

We do not condone letting a dog run loose and especially chasing a deer. These are shots our neighbor got on their wildlife camera. Josh escaped our fenced yard and had quite the adventure chasing a deer. That in itself is not funny but seeing him in obvious joy at his escapade was nice to see since he is normally very mellow and reserved due to his anxiety. When we realized he was loose, we looked outside and he was actually trying to break back into the yard. That was also a huge win. In the past, whenever he got loose with other foster families, he did not go back home. Obviously, we are on the right track with him and he feels safe and loved with us.
